§ Mr. DalyellTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if, pursuant to his answer of 24 January,Official Report, column 470, he has any plans to reconsider the net book agreement; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Maude[holding answer 25 May 1989]: I have no such plans. Under the relevant legislation, the review of arrangements such as the net hook agreement is a matter for the Restrictive Practices Court, on application by the Director General of Fair Trading. The director general has recently announced that he is considering whether to ask the court to look again at the agreement. He has invited representations by the end of May, and hopes to be in a position to take a final decision by the end of July.
