Mr. Summerson

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when he will make a statement on the possible introduction of a code of practice and other regulatory measures covering estate agents as recommended in the report prepared by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and submitted to the Under-Secretary of State for Industry and Consumer Affairs on 27 January.

NHS Hospital Medical and Dental Consultants Trent Regional Health Authority at 30 September each year.

[holding answer 25 May 1989]: I am in the process of concluding a review of estate agency. In the course of this review I have taken account of proposals from a number of interested parties, including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
