HL Deb 15 May 1989 vol 507 c1034WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why tourist coaches are allowed to park with apparent impunity on single and double yellow lines in Central London.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

Coach drivers are liable under the law for offences in the same way as other motorists. Police and traffic wardens take action against instances of illegal coach parking and obstruction whenever possible. I understand from the commissioner that an advice and enforcement campaign to minimise illegal coach parking is being carried out in the Westminster area throughout the summer.
