asked Her Majesty's Government:

What disciplinary action has been taken against the police officers concerned in the case of Mr. Irvine Chambers, who was awarded £5,000 agreed damages against the Metropolitan Police in settlement of his action for alleged assault, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution;

What disciplinary action has been taken against the police officers concerned in the case of Mr. Hillary Charles, who was awarded £6,000 agreed damages against the Metropolitan Police and £ 1,000 for false imprisonment on 21 st April; and

What disciplinary action has been taken against the police officers concened in the case of Miss Jane Salveson, who was charged last November with the murder of Miss Diana Maw and who was discharged after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case through lack of evidence.

The question of disciplinary proceedings against any police officers involved in these cases is a matter for the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis. I understand that no such action has been instituted.
