§ Mr. SainsburySince 1979 and up to March 1988, contracting out of defence support services, excluding the transfer of the royal dockyards to commercial management, has resulted in a net financial saving now running at some £50 million per annum and a reduction of over 13,000 mainly civilian public sector posts.
