HL Deb 09 May 1989 vol 507 c643WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How much land is to be sold on the north side of the new British Library site at St. Pancras and whether they are satisfied that what remains leaves the Library sufficient capacity for growth.

Baroness Trumpington

On the St. Pancras site a total area of some five acres will remain unbuilt when the building is complete in 1996. The optimum timing and method of disposal for land which may ultimately be surplus to requirements is currently being examined. The details have yet to be finalised.
