HL Deb 09 May 1989 vol 507 c642WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What assistance they are making available to the British Library towards the transitional costs of the move to St. Pancras.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Baroness Trumpington)

The Government have already made nearly £2 million available in increased grant-in-aid over the period 1988–89 to 1991–92 for the British Library's preparations for the move into the new St. Pancras building. My right honourable friend the Minister for the Arts has invited the British Library Board to submit for his consideration a detailed bid for the costs of the move.
