§ Mr. Chris PattenIn 1988 we provided nearly £31 million for refugees and displaced persons in Africa. This included Britain's share of the European Community's refugee assistance. So far this year we have announced a total of over £14 million in assistance for refugees and displaced persons in countries including Sudan, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia and Uganda.
