HC Deb 02 May 1989 vol 152 c46W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what incentives his Department offers to football clubs to go over to all-seater stadiums.

Mr. Moynihan

The Government share the view expressed by the football authorities and others that there should be a move towards all-seater stadiums for the major clubs. The incentive for the clubs would be in improved safety and comfort of their supporters. We welcome Liverpool FC's announcement of its intention to make Anfield an all-seater stadium.
