To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he has any plans to introduce legislation to ban the sale of organs from living or dead aborted babies.

We are still considering legislation to prohibit the sale of organs for transplantation. The Polkinghorme committee is currently reviewing the existing code of practice about the use of foetuses and foetal tissue for research in the light of recent developments to the field of human tissue transplantation and other relevant research.
