§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe "Statistics on Scientific Procedures on Living Animals", which are published annually (1987; Cm. 515) are the most factually detailed of those produced by any nation. There are currently no plans to incorporate in these annual statistics assessments of the severity of procedures which have been carried out, because of the inevitably subjective nature of such assessments.
