§ Mr. FreemanPatients are fully protected by the requirement that all such equipment in use in the NHS is constructed to the standard of BS 5724 (IEC 601–1) and the manufacturers are subject to approval under the Department's manufacturer registration scheme. Our central defect centre has no reports of difficulties arising of the kind experienced in France.
