To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what representations he has received on his recent proposals for the future of the national engineering laboratory.

To date, I have not received any representations on the proposals for the laboratory, which I announced on 17 May. However, there will shortly be a further meeting of the departmental Whitley council with the Department of Trade and Industry council of Civil Service unions to discuss the proposals.
