To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what further measures he is taking to improve road safety.

We are now saving 560 lives a year, compared with the position two years ago when I set our overall target.

We have today launched a new campaign against drinking and driving, using fresh TV commercials and publicity material. The basic message remains that "drinking and driving wrecks lives".
