One-parent Families (Hansard, 28 July 1989)

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) if he will publish an update of table 1.1 in the Green Paper, "Reform of Social Security", background papers volume 3, Cmnd. 9519 on the proportion of two and one-parent families separately, by working arrangements, in each quintile of income;

(2) if he will publish the latest figures of the number of one-parent families who are dependent on income support and part-time earnings;

(3) if he will publish the latest figures showing the number of one-parent families who are dependent on maintenance, by the type of one-parent family;

(4) if he will publish the latest figures showing the number of one-parent families claiming (a) family credit, (b)housing benefit and (c) both;

(5) if he will publish the latest figures showing the total amount collected in maintenance payments for one-parent families who are claiming benefits, broken down into the amount collected by his Department and by claimants themselves.
