"British Defence Policy 1989–90" was published on 4 May 1989. The contract for the design and printing of the booklet was let, by competitive tender, to Mason Clark McKenna Ltd. About 2,500 copies remain with the Ministry of Defence public relations staff for distribution. The total final cost of design, printing and publication, including staff costs, was £115,599.
