When the review by Professor David Pearce of progress in the United Kingdom and other countries on the methods of measuring sustainable development will be published.

Lord Hesketh

Professor Pearce's report is being published today and copies have been placed in the Library. The report provides the basis for carrying forward the UK's lead on appraising environment-related projects according to the principle of sustainable development endorsed by the Prime Minister in July 1988.
