§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyIn 1988–89 the Countryside Commission paid £7,728 to the Hertfordshire Groundwork Trust by way of grants under the provisions of section 9 of the Local Government Act 1974. The grants did not require the approval of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment. Applications for grant in the current financial year are still under consideration.
