HL Deb 20 July 1989 vol 510 c1029WA
Lord Swansea

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their intention to introduce a Bill to consolidate the provisions of the Firearms Act 1968, the Firearms Act 1982 and the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988, and if so, when.

Earl Ferrers

The Government accept that it would be desirable to consolidate existing firearms legislation within a single Act in due course. The timing of consolidation will be given further consideration when the provisions of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 are fully in effect.
