§ Mr. ButcherStaffordshire spent an average of £1,040 per secondary pupil in 1978–79 and £1,255 per secondary pupil in 1986–87. The figure for the earlier year has been repriced to 1986–87 prices using the gross domestic product (market prices) deflator.
