To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the amount of money paid out by his Department as grants for maintenance, repair or construction of farm walls and hedges, for each of last three years and for the current year.

The amount of grant paid in England each year since 1985 for repair or construction of walls and the planting of hedges and hedge laying was:

Routine maintenance operations are not grant aided.
