§ Mr. EggarThe Tucurui and Balbina dams were constructed without World Bank loans. The World Bank has stated that it has financed no hydroelectric power schemes in Amazonia and has no plans to do so. I t is not the policy of Her Majesty's Government to disclose instructions given to our executive directors in international financial institutions.
