§ Mr. EggarData are insufficient at this stage to assess accurately the long-term impact of AIDS on populations. The objective of this research project is to obtain information on how communities have coped in the past with disease and disasters which have had an impact on their populations. This will assist policy-makers establish appropriate ways of fostering and supporting community self-help methods of alleviating the potential impact of AIDS.
