Ms. Short

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what information the new training and enteprise councils will have to make available in their three year business plans and proposed annual reports; and how much of this information will be publicly available.

Mr. Cope

Details of what information training and enterprise councils will need to provide in their three-year business plans and annual reports are under consideration. A council's report will however be a public document, and they will also have to publish a synopsis of their business plans.

Ms. Short

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment whether the new training and enterprise councils will make publicly available, scheme by scheme, statistics showing the ethnic backgrounds of the YTS and employment training trainees recruited by their local training managers-managing agents; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Cope

The arrangements under which training and enterprise councils will operate are being developed and these matters are being given consideration. Councils will be required to continue and develop equality of opportunity on YTS and employment training.

Ms. Short

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what information training and enterprise councils will make publicly available on the health and safety performance of the YTS and employment training schemes they are responsible for; and what information will be made publicly available in the case of accidents leading to serious injury or the death of a trainee.

Mr. Cope

The detailed arrangements under which training and enterprise councils will operate are being developed and these matters are being given consideration. Councils will be required to promote high standards of health and safety on YTS and employment training.
