§ Mr. TrippierI have been asked to reply as English urban development corporations are the responsibility of my Department. Since the London Docklands development corporation was established in 1981 more than 20,000 jobs have been created or attracted to the area, and the increase in jobs is accelerating. There is considerable potential for all UDCs to stimulate employment. This is, of course, only one of the benefits that they will bring to their areas.
