§ 70. Mr. Turner
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has any plans to establish a full-time police forensic service.

§ Mr. Douglas Hogg
The Home Office forensic science service provides forensic science facilities to police forces outside London through its six regional laboratories. The Metropolitan police and the City of London police are served by the Metropolitan police forensic science laboratory.
It would not be economical, or effective, for each provincial police force to establish its own laboratory.
