What new costings they have received which have convinced them that it is impractical to include nuclear power stations in the privatisation programme for the electricity supply industry.

As was made clear in the statement made by my noble friend Lord Belstead on 9th November (col. 962), the primary reason for the withdrawal of the AGR and PWR nuclear stations from the privatisation was the unprecedented guarantees against commercial risk sought by National Power.
