To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the amount of central funding allocated to Greater Glasgow health board for cardiac surgery for the past three years; and how much was spent in(a) the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow, (b) Glasgow Royal Infirmary and (c) Glasgow Western Infirmary.

The funding allocation to Greater Glasgow health board for the provision of cardiac surgery for each of the three years, 1987–88, 1988–89 and 1989–90, was £7.556 million, £7.896 million and £8.764 million respectively.

It is for Greater Glasgow health board to decide the distribution of funds among individual cardiac units.
