§ Mr. LangMy right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland wrote to Highland regional council and Inverness district council on 10 February requesting detailed reports of flood damage and extra costs incurred. He received a reply from Highland region dated 6 March which reports costs without full supporting details, and has just received a report from the district council. Ross and Cromarty and Lochaber district councils have reported additional costs in dealing with storm damage to housing estates. I am assessing this and other information and will make a statement as soon as possible.
