HC Deb 28 October 1988 vol 139 c451W
Mr. Amess

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received supporting the overturning of the United Nations General Assembly "Zionism is Racism" resolution; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Eggar

I have not received any recent representations supporting the overturning of this resolution.

The United Kingdom (in common with most Western countries) voted against the United Nations General Assembly resolution 3379 in the General Assembly in November 1975. We have consistently opposed the resolution, but there is no specific provision for repealing United Nations resolutions.
