HC Deb 28 October 1988 vol 139 c442W
Mr. Latham

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what would be the estimated cost to public funds of extending exemptions from charges for(a) dental examinations and (b) eye tests beyond those envisaged on Third Reading of the Health and Medicines Bill in the House of Commons to exempt all persons of pensionable age.

Mrs. Currie

The estimated annual cost in England of extending free dental treatment to all persons over pensionable age would be £5 million and the extension of free sight tests would be £22 million.
