§ Mr. EggarAs a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, we have a special responsibility towards financing such operations as the United Nations Iran-Iraq military observer group. Parliamentary approval for this expenditure will be sought in a winter Supplementary Estimate for the "Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Other External Relations" Vote. Pending that approval, urgent expenditure of £1,244,440.20 has been met by a repayable advance already issued from the contingency fund.
