HC Deb 27 October 1988 vol 139 cc409-10W
Mr. Anthony Coombs

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if it is proposed to make any changes to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office cash limits for 1988–89.

Mr. Eggar

Subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit for class II, vote 2 (Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Other External Relations) will be increased by £428,000 from £129,270,000 to £129,698,000 to take account of additional provision required to cover the costs of the United Kingdom-Iran compensation agreement dated 7 July 1988. The increase will not add to the planned total of public expenditure.
