§ Mr. NichollsThe inspection rating systems used in the factory and agricultural inspectorate division of Health and Safety Executive are designed to ensure that basic inspection is applied systematically, and most frequently to those premises where the hazard is greatest or where for other reasons close monitoring is desirable. The system has operated since 1977 and its effectiveness as a tool for allocating the division's resources is currently under review.
