HC Deb 27 October 1988 vol 139 cc364-5W
131. Mr. Foulkes

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what resources the Inland Revenue is currently devoting to investigations of the tax affairs of companies; and if he will make a statement.

For the year to April 1988 the Inland Revenue estimates that some 1,200 man-years of its staff resources were devoted to the examination of company accounts.
