Mr. Roy Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he has any plans to increase the resources available to Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution in response to the increase in the amount of hazardous waste being imported into the United Kingdom for disposal;

(2) if he has any plans to increase the number of hazardous waste inspectors employed by Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution;

(3) by what criteria the establishment level of inspectors employed by Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution to cover England and Wales is determined.
