HC Deb 26 October 1988 vol 139 c298W
Mr. Alexander

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the road usage measured by vehicles per hour along the stretch of the Al between Markham Moor roundabout and Five Lane ends roundabout in Nottinghamshire.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The Department records road usage in terms of average annual daily traffic. This is the total number of vehicles in one year divided by 365. Hourly figures are not available. In 1987 the traffic flow expressed as AADT on the A1 between Markham Moor roundabout and Five Lanes End roundabout was 26,000 vehicles. This figure includes traffic in both directions.
