Mr. Corbett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will list for each urban development corporation by name the(a) establishment and (b) number currently in post by title of staff responsible for community liaison work, giving for each urban development corporation the allocated budget in the current financial year for such purposes.

The information available for English first and second generation urban development corporations (UDCs) is given in the table. The UDCs vary in their staffing arrangements and in the size, resident population and other characteristics of their areas. Therefore, direct comparisons are misleading. No equivalent information is available for the third generation UDCs set up this year. They are still recruiting staff and developing their policies.
