HC Deb 24 October 1988 vol 139 c89W
Mr. Wareing

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what his estimate is of the amount of derelict land in need of regeneration in order to remove urban blight in England; what his estimate is of the cost of a programme of regeneration; and what plans he has to combat such urban blight.

Mr. Trippier

The 1988 survey of derelict land in England will provide an estimate of how much derelict land in urban areas justifies reclamation. It will be published in summer 1989. As I announced in the House on 20 July, when I have the results of the survey I shall reconsider the criteria for the use of derelict land grant.
