§ Mr. TrippierWe believe that rental purchase has been used as a means of circumventing the Rent Act. The new assured tenancy regime set out in the Housing Bill, which will enable landlords to charge market rents, should reduce the incentive to establish rental purchase schemes. We are awaiting the results of the survey into rental purchase carried out by the Association of Metropolitan Authorities
