Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what additional costs were incurred by each of Her Majesty's embassies and high commissions arising from the tour by the Prime Minister to various countries in August 1988.

All separately identifiable expenditure incurred by Her Majesty's embassies and high commissions is being reclaimed from the Office of the Minister of the Civil Service. Any residual costs not separately identified will have been absorbed within posts' existing local budgets.
