§ Mr. Douglas Hogg[holding answer 29 July 1988]: The number of cases of general practitioners considered by the misuse of drugs tribunal for each of the years 1983–87 is as follows:

Expenditure on social science and humanities research is expressed as a percentage of total cash-limited Home Office expenditure.

Friend the Home Secretary made, in th light of the tribunal's findings, a direction under section 13 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, prohibiting the practitioner from prescribing certain controlled drugs. In the remaining case, representations by the practitioner against a proposed direction are shortly to be considered by the misuse of drugs advisory body.
