What is the final decision concerning the route of the M.40 to Birmingham and how many lanes this new road will have.

Construction of the M.40 extension between Wendlebury and Birmingham is under way. The road is being built as a dual three-lane motorway.

The route and standard of the Waterstock to Wendlebury section will depend on the outcome of the recent public inquiry. My right honourable friends are considering the inspector's report. They hope to announce their decisions at the end of the year.
