§ Mrs. Currie[holding answer 2 November 1988]A comprehensive reply, based on registration of newly diagnosed cases of leukaemia over a sufficient time period, could be provided only at disproportionate cost. However, the table shows mortality data for the counties and county districts of Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex which are readily available for the period 1979 to 1987. Care should be taken in interpreting the mortality rates as these are based on small numbers of events.
