HC Deb 14 November 1988 vol 140 c436W
Mr. McNamara

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will itemise the ways in which the rules of evidence and court procedure in the Republic of Ireland make it difficult to use the Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Act 1975 and its Irish counterpart, the Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Act 1976, to have fugitive offenders tried in the Republic of Ireland, rather than seek their extradition.

Mr. Ian Stewart

[holding answer 4 November 1988]I have nothing to add to my reply of 27 October. Since each case is different and gives rise to different considerations it is impossible to provide an itemised list.
