HC Deb 14 November 1988 vol 140 c436W
Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on his policy with regard to the proposal from the Northern Ireland Council on Disability that a working group be established representing all Government Departments with an interest in the second action programme for disabled people and the voluntary sector, to co-ordinate and represent the interests of Northern Ireland.

Mr. Needham

[holding answer 7 November 1988]A working group of officials representing all Northern Ireland Departments with an interest in the second action programme for disabled people (the Helios programme) has already been established. This group will be represented at national discussions on issues arising from the programme. The question of the inclusion of voluntary sector representatives in both a national co-ordinating committee and the Northern Ireland working group is currently under consideration.
