§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will list, in a form that cannot jeopardise the advice he may receive from the committee reviewing the Data Protection Act, the number of organisations that have given evidence to the committee, stating whether these organisations represent industry, professional bodies, international institutions, civil libertarian or consumer groups.
§ Mr. RentonNo organisations have been invited to give evidence to the interdepartmental committee reviewing the Data Protection Act. The committee is awaiting the result of the independent consultation exercise undertaken by the data protection registrar before deciding whether there is need to call for further evidence.
