To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what results he has of his two recent surveys carried into post-Chernobyl radioactivity in Cumbria by(a) multi-wheeled vehicles, and (b) helicopter: and if he will make a statement.

Full results are not yet availabe from the recent aerial survey of the post-Chernobyl restricted area which was supported by surface monitoring using multi-wheeled vehicles. The results will be published in the usual way as soon as possible.

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many samples of sheep milk were taken in(a) Cumbria, (b) Lancashire and (c) England to test for radioactivity for each month, respectively, since the Chernobyl accident: and if he will make a statement.

Full details of samples of sheep milk and of all other categories of produce monitored following the Chernobyl accident are regularly published and are available in the Library of the House.
