To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, pursuant to his replies of 7 November, he will place in the Library a copy of the record of his briefing to members of the press on 4 November on the targeting of state pensions.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will place in the Library a summary of his remarks to the press of Friday 4 November concerning benefits for pensioners.

I regret that no tape recording or transcript of the briefing exists. I have nothing to add to the information I gave the House on 7 November.
