§ Mr. WaldegraveThe member states retain national legislative competence in those areas where the Community does not have exclusive competence under the EEC treaty or instruments adopted under it, for example, in areas such as criminal law, family law, rules on the ownership of property. It would not be practicable to compile an exhaustive list in the form required.
